How to start a Christian club at your School:
1) There has to be a student(s) that desire to have one
2) The student then finds a teacher/coach at school to be the school sponsor (you have to have a school employee to have a club)
3) The student or teacher fills out the school charter (get it from the school office) to establish the club
4) Pick a day/time to meet each week (before school is the best time, after school you have sports and at night it may be difficult to get people back). 30 minutes before school starts would be sufficiant.
5) Have your school sponsor register your club at www.fca.org .
6) Get with John to give you any training and information that you may need. Also go to www.fca.org and www.fpoa.org and www.catchthis.net .
7) You're ready now launch it! Go to www.fca.org to get some premade posters to help promote your club at school.
FYI's (things you need to know):
a) if your school has any club of any type, they cannot deny you starting a Christian club. That is against the law, the Equal Access Act. See John if this happens.
b) I recommend the club being under FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) - you don't have to be an athlete to be in it. FCA is a nationally recognized club. FCA will insure your club.
c) I also recommend that you do the FISH acrostic as your weekly plan. Then no one gets burned out, it's easy to plan and put together. See John for more info. Click here for the FISH Acrostic
