ONE-80 is about helping students turn their lives around for God.  It's is a term frequently used in skateboarding to mean half of a 360 which is a full circle.  You are going in one direction, you stomp on the kick tail to stop and, at the same time, you turn around to go in the opposite direction. It is also kind of like the military term about face . You are going in one direction and then you turn around, face the opposite direction and go that way.

A ONE-80 is necessary to begin our Christian walk because we are born in sin (original sin because of the fall of man - Adam & Eve's sin).  When we confess our sin and give our lives over to Jesus, we turn our life around or do a ONE-80 change.
The journey does not, however, stop here.  As we grow in our relationship with Jesus, God continues to work in all areas of our lives.  Many times we find ourselves doing smaller ONE-80 changes that turn us away from old habits that impede that growth.  If you have ever watched skaters on the halfpipe at Trashmore, you will see them go up one side, do a ONE-80, and come back down only to go up the other side and do another ONE-80.  Our Christian walk is often like this.  God desires for us to walk along the center of the halfpipe with him.  As we start to stray, he uses different tools (Christian friends, Sunday School teachers, Pastors, Parents, etc...) to effect a ONE-80.
